Judy Markland is President and founder of Landmark Strategies, a firm specializing in product development and positioning strategies for stable value and other pension products. She is an economist with a background in investment analysis, asset/liability matching, and financial and economic research.

Judy has extensive experience in both the investment and product aspects of the pension business. In her career at John Hancock Insurance, she was vice president in charge of pricing and underwriting for GICs and annuities, chief economist and head of investment policy and research, and vice president for corporate strategy and future directions. Her assignments gave her a solid grounding in applied research, investment and life insurance regulations, and technical actuarial issues.

Judy has been extensively involved in legislative and regulatory matters affecting pension products and is experienced in providing technical support for legislative initiatives. She has served on the board of several investment management firms and is a frequent speaker and writer on pension and guaranteed investment matters.

Under her direction, Landmark Strategies has become one of the most respected consulting firms dealing with stable value and other guaranteed products for tax-qualified plans.

Judy was named the 1995 Most Respected GIC/Stable Value Professional by her peers in the industry. She is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Stable Value Investment Association and a past board member of the National Association of Business Economists. A graduate of Middlebury College, she has an MA from Harvard and a MBA in finance from Boston University.
